Roomba avoids black color pattern on rugs. When the roomba is used on black carpets it thinks it s a cliff so the robot would not go past it. Roomba does not go well with black or dark patterns on carpet. In other words it will interpret dark colors as potential drop off risks.

This is frustrating because the roomba can get stuck in one area and will not get any cleaning done. This is a safety mechanism included in all roomba models. If your robot is having issues navigating on dark surfaces please ensure there is no dust or debris blocking the cliff. It will just bounce back and forth around the dark patterns.
